Niels Jørn Friborg joined Hafnia Law Firm as a partner in 2012.
Having worked with shipping and transport law ever since setting out as a practising lawyer in 2000, Niels is an expert shipping lawyer. He has a diverse shipping practice, which spans both wet and dry contentious work as well as non-contentious work with all forms of ship-related contracts. He has significant experience with newbuilding, H&M, P&I, FD&D and war insurance cases and has dealt with everything from major casualties to high-profile piracy cases, serious personal injury matters and cargo claims too numerous to count.
Niels’ practice also includes substantial work with trade, transport and logistics and related insurance. He often acts in cases involving the liability of carriers, freight forwarders and other logistics providers, and he has drafted and reviewed many logistics contracts for C20 and other companies.
Over the years, Niels has developed a substantial offshore and onshore infrastructure practice. Offshore, his focus is especially review and negotiation of as well as resolution of disputes under contracts for construction and maintenance of offshore wind farms, but he also acts for clients in relation to other aspects of both the offshore wind and the offshore oil and gas sectors. Onshore, his focus is light rail projects.
